U.S. Tax - What's Up With Canadian & U.S. Tax Proposals for Our U.S. Expats

2017 has been quite a year for proposed changes in tax policy both north and south of the border. Our speaker, former ECPAC President Carol Sadler will collect them together to show how both the Canadian and American proposals might affect Canadian expats living in the USA.

Carol’s background is in Canadian, US and cross border tax compliance, planning and strategy. She works with private companies and high-net worth families in a variety of industries ranging from the oil and gas and resource sector, to real estate and consulting. Carol is our US and cross-border tax expert.

Carol earned her Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) with distinction from the University of Alberta. She then spent several years working in the tax group of a Big-4 accounting firm where she began to provide US and Canadian tax services. Later in her career, Carol established her own tax firm, SadlerTax Consultants, which she developed into a respected Calgary area tax firm before joining Achen Henderson LLP as their head of US and cross-border taxation.

Carol has completed Parts I, II, and III of the CICA’s In Depth Tax course and advanced studies in Wealth Preservation. Carol is a member of the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners and holds the TEP designation. She is also member of the Canadian Tax Foundation, the AICPA, American Institute of Certified Professional Accountants (Tax Section).
