Are you ready? New Standards for Compilation Engagements
NOTE: This will be an online Zoom event. And note that the length is scheduled for 1.5 hrs. instead of the usual 1 hr.
New Compilation standard that is effective for periods ending on or after December 14, 2021 (with early application permitted). Are you ready? The effective date may sound far away, but its impact could be significant. Prepare early to ensure successful implementation. Do not wait until the effective date to act. Hear from Ray Mack, FCPA, FCA.
It has been almost 35 years since the standard on compilation engagements has been revised. The new Canadian Standard on Related Services (CSRS) 4200, Compilation Engagements will not only be felt by practitioners, but also by users.
Ray served on the CPA Canada Compilation Engagements Guidance Task Force and will bring his expertise and extensive background on this topic. He will bring the many practical aspects for accepting, conducting and reporting on compilation engagements.
Ray earned his Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of British Columbia in 1973 and attained his CA designation in 1975. Ray’s primary focus at KMSS is general practice, providing financial consulting for his small-business clients.
His distinguished career includes being the President of DFK Canada from 1995-1998, President of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta from 2000-2001, and President of DFK International from 2006-2008.
Recognizing Ray’s significant contribution to the profession, he received his FCA designation in 2000.

New Guest Policy
Your ECPAC Board of Directors has adopted a new policy regarding non-member registrations for events. See the full description and conditions when you choose the Registration Type when registering for the session. To summarize:
- Guests of members and independent non-members may now attend ECPAC sessions at a cost of $15 (online) or $45 (in-person luncheons).
- Guests and non-member registrants may attend maximum two (2) sessions, online and/or in-person. After this they will be asked to join the ECPAC, if they are eligible.
- Members, if you have a guest you wish to have attend AFTER you have registered yourself then you have two options:
-
- Contact the ECPAC Administrator to register your guest and then send the invoice for payment to either you or your guest, as you choose, or
- Direct the guest to choose the Non-member Registration type, thus making it easier and faster for you, she or he, and the Administrator, with no extra cost.
If you have a problem registering please contact Richard Sherry at Richard@TheBookkeepingDepartment.ca.
