Bio
Charla Smith is a Licensed Insolvency Trustee (LIT) and President of Charla Smith & Company, which provides individuals, including business owners, with a highly personalized environment where they can work closely with a small team of experienced professionals to find a solution to overwhelming debt.
Charla earned her CPA-CGA designation while working as an accountant in the oil and gas industry. But after one of her employers had a brush with insolvency, she was drawn to the fast pace of corporate restructuring. After over a decade of managing corporate bankruptcies, proposals, receiverships, and CCAA proceedings, including the high-profile bankruptcy of Redwater Energy Corporation, Charla realized she wanted to take the time to work with the individuals behind the corporations. And Charla Smith & Company was born.
