Session Topic: 2026 Year-End Tax Planning for Owner-Managers

Join Kim G C Moody and Jay Goodis for a practical discussion of the year-end tax planning issues most relevant to Canadian owner-managers and private companies. The session will examine key 2026 tax developments, integration and compensation planning, corporate distributions, investment income and the Small Business Deduction, capital gains, and other planning opportunities and traps advisors should consider before year-end. The focus will be on practical decision-making: how the rules interact, where planning opportunities exist, and what accountants should be discussing with their owner-manager clients before December 31.

Bio's

Kim G C Moody, FCPA, FCA, TEP

Kim G C Moody is one of Canada’s most recognized voices on tax. He has held senior leadership roles across Canada’s tax community and regularly contributes to national tax policy and public commentary. Kim is a Financial Post columnist, a former Chair of the CBA/CPA Joint Committee on Taxation and the Canadian Tax Foundation, and has appeared as a witness before parliamentary committees on Canadian tax and fiscal policy.

Jay Goodis, CPA, CA

Jay Goodis is the Founder and CEO of Tax Templates Inc. and a CPA, CA who combines tax strategy, quantitative analysis and technology to help professionals evaluate complex tax and financial planning decisions. His work focuses on tax optimization — turning technical rules and competing strategies into practical calculations, comparisons and better-informed decisions. Jay is a CPA Ontario Emerging Leader, has appeared as a witness before parliamentary committees, and is a national tax and keynote speaker with a particular focus on tax optimization and technology.
