Business Valuation - analyzing trends and changes in business valuations.

Bio

Yen Dang, CPA (Ontario), CBV (Chartered Business Valuator), ABV (Accredited in Business Valuation, AICPA), is the founder of Aspen Valuations, a boutique business valuation firm headquartered in Calgary with a team of six, serving clients across Canada and in the US.

Yen has practiced exclusively in business valuation for nearly two decades, determining fair market value for private businesses at pivotal moments - business sales, tax reorganizations, and shareholder buy-ins or buyouts. She is passionate about working alongside business owners and their advisors, including tax accountants, to bring accurate, defensible valuations to the planning process that supports sound tax strategy.

Bio

Felicia Mar, MPAcc, CPA, CA, is the Founder and Senior Tax Advisor of F. Mar Professional Corporation, a Calgary tax boutique serving privately owned businesses, high-net-worth individuals and families, and accounting firms. She is passionate about tax planning and education. Over more than 20 years, Felicia has advised on complex Canadian tax matters and inbound and outbound transactions at KPMG and as a tax partner at BDO. She led the tax audit of Nutrien and the tax function at ATCO Ltd. and Parkland Fuel Corporation. Her deal experience includes CNOOC's $15.1 billion acquisition of Nexen — the largest Canadian deal of its time.

Alongside practice, Felicia has spent over a decade as a facilitator for CPA Canada's In-Depth Tax Program and In-Depth Corporate Reorganizations Course, earning the Jeff K. Jutzi Facilitator Award in 2020. She is also a frequent speaker at market-facing and high-profile events, including CPTS and joint presentations with Scotia Bank and CIBC. Today she pairs big-firm technical depth with the personal attention of a boutique for owner-managed businesses across real estate, energy services, professional corporations, private equity, and more.
