Kenneth Kueng is a Director of Canadian Tax Advisory at Moodys Tax Law LLP. Recognized as one of the top tax experts in Canada, Kenneth has been providing his expertise in tax planning to high net worth families, private businesses and multi-national enterprises for almost 20 years. His wide-ranging practice includes individual, trust and corporate tax planning, cross-border investments, mergers, acquisitions and divestitures, and estate and succession planning.

Kenneth is a renowned expert and sought-after speaker on tax matters as well as an award-winning author of a number of published papers. Kenneth has assisted The Joint Committee on Taxation of The Canadian Bar Association and Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada in working with Finance Canada and the Canada Revenue Agency on the development and enforcement of tax legislation in Canada.

Kenneth has also facilitated and assisted in the development of CPA Canada’s In-Depth Tax Program since 2009, and is Vice Chair of the Calgary branch of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioner. Kenneth previously sat on the Program Committees for the Canadian Tax Foundation national and regional conferences, the Technical Knowledge Development committee for the Financial Planning Standards Council, the Steering Committee of the Canadian Tax Foundation Young Practitioners and the Ernst & Young Power & Utilities Industry Committee.

And yes, he has a life outside of work too. An avid musician, he plays piano, bass and bassoon, and in a previous life, produced original music for theatrical productions and an independent film. In true Kenneth fashion, he compares the composing process to tax planning – a synchronized course of creation, analysis and out-of-the-box ideas that work together in harmony to create a beautiful symphony of legal entities and corporate plans.

Christopher J.S. Ellett, LLB, JD, LLM (TAX) specializes in providing income and commodity tax advice to owner-managed businesses, with particular emphasis on business re-organizations, purchases and sales and intergenerational succession in both the domestic and Canada/US cross-border environments. Christopher is called to the Bar and licensed to practice law in Alberta and British Columbia.

Christopher is a member of the Tax Specialists Section (North) of the Alberta Branch of the Canadian Bar Association and the Canadian Tax Foundation. Christopher is a frequent speaker and writer on legal and tax issues. Christopher received his Bachelor of Laws from the University of London and his Juris Doctor and Master of Laws in Taxation from the University of British Columbia.
